Mi Furst Gamey
Yep its my first thingie made in C++ woohoo! Who cares? (*shurg*) Who should care? (*shurg*) Anyway, its Windoze and/or DOS only (sorry Mac and Linux folks.....but you suck anyway (just kiddin y'know I love all y'all)), may have problems under eXPee, but dunno. Any massive damage done to your system due to major stack overload wasn't my fault (just kidding, really should run ok). Anyway, get here. This is version, er, 1.1.2 or something, with some bug fixin and a special feature unknowingly requested by Po. If, for some damn reason you want to muddle through the source code mess (warning, precious little comments used) and tell me how horrid my programming really is (no, really, if you're up for it I could use the criticism), or even port it to mac, or do, I dunno....something with it....here's the source (compiled in dev-c++ v 4.0, aka MingW version something.or.other). Keep in mind this was really nothing more than a vehicle to help me learn how to use classes and isn't really meant to be fun per se.
If ANYONE has any recommendations for books or online docs (other than Petzold....already got that) that will help me move on to coding for the Windoze API, especially compatable with Dev-C++/MingW (I'm having big probs finding any docs for the resource file syntax), PLEASE, lemme know!!! I'd massively appreciate it and will dedicate (or something) my first Windoze Gamey to you.

Ok, obviously the main project recently has been this site. Finally we just about have launch. I'm sitting here on my main box with one hand and my laptop with the other trying to iron out last minute problems (which, granted, aren't really going to show up until after ftping the whole mess). Problems are all over the place with directory designations since I've been deving this on a windows box running apache and its going up on a FreeBSD box. I also just had a last minute thing work properly with the include files which just wasn't happening before for, as far as I can figure out, some single- vs double-quote conversion. Through it all though I gotta say that PHP has been a damn fine language to work with. Just when I'm getting all flustered it goes ahead and works. Anyway, from here I'll probably be spending about a week to fluff-up the content like an '80's haircut and busting out any script ickies that show up, then hopefully its back to ironing out the bugs in a game I've been working on for Crunchland, "Crunchwords", a hangman-ish php-based game based on the classic BBS game Popwords (don't keep yourself up nights if you've never heard of it....not one of my favs but the general public has been asking for it and no one else has seemed to bother). After that, a few more original PHP games have been waiting for attention. I'm hoping something fun and entertaining will come out of their communal mess.
Anyway, I'm not, by any stretch trying to pretend that any scripts that appear on this site are groundbreaking feats of coding or anything, but if you'd like any of the back-end coding let me know and I'll be more than glad to send the source along. Everything on this site, unless otherwise noted, is free for the grabbing as far as I'm concerned.
On to live.......
